The Update Billing History wizard can assign billing history to the wrong portfolio under certain data conditions.
- There are no transactions entered for the portfolio.
- A Billing Spec has been assigned to the portfolio.
- The portfolio is included in the Update Billing History job, either because it is selected, it is included in the selected Set, or the job is run on All Portfolios.

Securities with special symbols defined under the industry standard ticker.
In PotfolioCenter 5.9, using the Core Files, PortfolioCenter is using the Industry Ticker Symbol when defining new securities, and reading price, transaction, position, and reconciliation files.
Where Industry Ticker and symbols differ, the user experience will be: Immediately after upgrading to 5.9, PortfolioCenter will define a new security under the new (industry) ticker symbol. Prices, Transactions, and Share Reconciliation will use this new Security Symbol, causing the price, transactions to post to the new security, and causing the affected positions to appear as unreconciled on the Share Reconciliation report.
Industry Ticker and Ticker are different most commonly in the following cases:
Mutual Funds with shares that have different fee structures – the industry ticker will end in X, and the Ticker can end in Z. It is possible for an advisor to have both the X and Z symbol for the same mutual fund.
Preferred Stocks – the industry ticker will include “/PR”, for example ENH/PRA, while the Ticker will include “+”, so ENH+A.
A page with a PVCNI (Portfolio Value versus Cumulative Net Investment) chart appears off-center in batch mode
When running a Batch Job that includes overview pages with a PVCNI graph, if the PVCNI graph exceeds a certain number of periods (the exact number of periods varies depending on the space available for the graph; typically it is between 15 and 18 periods), the overview pages for that particular portfolio or group will be off centered to the upper left. This does not happen if the presentation is run individually (i.e. from the Reports | Client Presentations screen).
Fonts for numbers in specific sections of presentations are replaced with Microsoft Sans Serif font during batch printing.
Missing Column in Master List Export
The Billing Account Number does not appear on the Client Presentations Billing Page
In Client Presentations, the Billing Account is not displayed under the following conditions:
- Running the Billing Statement for an individual Portfolio, or for a Group while choosing not to Allocate Bill to Group Members
- The setting "Display Billing Account Number" is set to True.

Use Bifurcation Setting Not Working for Receipted or Credited Trade Lots
This issue impacts only users who are tracking cost basis for mutual funds using average cost as the sell matching method, and who have configured PortfolioCenter to handle bifurcation.
The Use Bifurcation Setting is not detecting uncovered trade lots correctly and is averaging all lots together in cases where shares have been receipted or credited after 01/01/2012, instead of changing the matching method to First In First Out to close uncovered lots. Because the Cost Basis Reset Wizard uses credits to reset basis, this issue is also encountered when the wizard is run after 01/01/2012.
PortfolioCenter is reading the receipt or credit date and not the original trade date, as intended. If there are both covered and uncovered lots for an average cost position, you will not be able to reconcile cost basis after posting sells.
Dividends on short positions appear as positive rather than negative amounts on performance reports.
In the Position Performance Summary, Portfolio Performance Summary, and other reports that display the components of change in a portfolio's value, dividends on Short positions appear as positive amounts, rather than as negative amounts.
Performance Returns (TWR and IRR) and Investment Gain are not affected by this issue. However, the Income component of the portfolio is overstated, and the Unrealized Gain is understated by twice the amount of the dividend.
Cash merger transactions may create two transactions instead of one sell transaction
When a cash merger occurs for a security, we should receive one sell transaction with gross proceeds. For clients using core files, they may receive two transactions: one is a sell with no gross proceeds and the second is a deposit for the amount of the gross proceeds. Shares and cash will reconcile, but the transaction is not handled properly and may impact performance reporting.
Purchase of multiple lots of one CD can cause mismatch between Interval values and holding reports
If multiple lots of the same CD are purchased, with different settlement dates, the Interval calculations will use the earliest settlement date as the beginning point for calculating accrued interest, while the holding reports use each lot's settlement date to calculate accrued interest separately.
Fixed income securities that mature may create two transactions instead of one sell transaction
When a security matures, we should receive one sell transaction with gross proceeds. For clients using core files, they may receive two transactions: one is a sell with no gross proceeds and the second is a deposit for the amount of the gross proceeds. Shares and cash will reconcile, but the transaction is not handled properly and may impact performance reporting.
A page with a PVCNI (Portfolio Value versus Cumulative Net Investment) chart does not generate a report
When running a Batch Job on a presentation that includes overview pages with a PVCNI graph, if the PVCNI graph exceeds a certain number of periods (the exact number of periods varies depending on the space available for the graph, but typically the Date Range used is Since Inception), the Batch Job will not complete. If the presentation is run individually, the Presentation Viewer will display a blank window and eventually PortfolioCenter will crash with a "not responding" error message.
